General Carol A. Mutter, USMC (Ret) & Colonel James Mutter, USMC (Ret) to Serve On NEAH Strategic Advisory Board

BOTHELL, Wash., July 29, 2009 - NEAH Power Systems, Inc., (OTCBB:NPWZ - News) www.neahpower.com, the Company developing fuel cells for the military and portable electronic devices, announced today that Lieutenant General Carol Mutter and her husband Colonel Jim Mutter have been re-appointed to the Company's Strategic Advisory Board.

Lieutenant General Carol Mutter's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carol_Mutter ) distinguished career with the U.S. Marine Corps spanned 31-years. General Mutter has 13 years of experience in military research, development and acquisition, as well as significant experience in financial management, logistics, personnel administration, and equal opportunity work. General Mutter serves or has served on the American Battle Monuments Commission, the National Advisory Council of The Alliance for National Defense, on the Advisory Board of the Indiana Council on World Affairs, on the Indiana State (legislative) Commission on Military and Veterans Affairs, and as Senior Fellow at the Joint Forces Staff College in Norfolk, VA.

General Mutter has considerable private sector experience as well, having served as consultant for IBM (NYSE:IBM - News), Raytheon Co. (NYSE:RTN - News), and Revision Eyewear. She earned two masters degrees, from Salve Regina University and from the Naval War College, and has been awarded two honorary doctorate degrees as well.

Colonel James Mutter has a similarly distinguished military career with the U.S. Marine Corps, spanning 36-years and including five years in USMC research, development, and test and evaluation positions. He also served in U.S. Space Command, Supreme Allied Command, Atlantic, and Headquarters, USMC, plus many years in operational billets. Colonel Mutter accumulated over 20 years in Command, Control and Communications posts to include senior level HQMC Chief for prototype C3 equipment operational test design, field testing, equipment evaluation and providing procurement recommendations or improvements.

Following his military career, Colonel Mutter served as Senior Vice President Administration at Sensys Corp in D.C., and was President of the National Military Family Association. In 1998, he received the civilian U.S. Navy Distinguished Public Service Award. After graduating from University of New Mexico in 1961, and serving two tours of duty in Vietnam, Colonel Mutter was selected to attend graduate school and earned a Masters Degree in Financial Management at George Washington University.
